Nintendo DS Getting a Real Adult Visual Novel Game?

What’s this? The “touchy witch hunting games” aren’t good enough and now the game developers are letting players go one step further? “Lyrical DS” will probably end up being the first “Z” rated adult game for the DS…

But it’s fake of course. Well, partly.

Akibablog (NSFW) spotted this promotion for the upcoming adult PC visual novel game “Lyrical DS” which is due out this Friday May 30th. “DS” standing for “Dramatic Stories” not “Nintendo DS” but, they’ve obviously thought of Nintendo’s console here.

With the exception of homebrewn software, I think titles like the witch hunting “Dokidoki Shinpan” and upcoming “To Love Ru DS” will be the only commercial games to be considered bordering the adult game territory on the DS. At least if they were released in the West anyway. Oh wait, they would probably end up being banned completely.

As for the PC game itself, the the premium collector’s edition will contain an artbook, a bonus disc containing goodies you can use on your computer and a… “touchable poster”. Check out the official site (NSFW) for more details, screenshots and a downloadable demo movie.

    I didn’t even know that a Z rating existed, LOL.

    Marmalade’s games are pretty nice. Still, there’s no question that this game will and only exist in Japan…

    I don’t play many adult games, mostly because of my lack of Japanese comprehension. However, the concept of a touch adult game for the DS is certainly something that would be exploring new territory. So this parody is at least slightly intelligent.

    All the same I seriously doubt such a game would even be published in Japan because of Nintendo’s “family-oriented” marketing strategy. >.<

    According to AkibaBlog, this is a parody packaging which looks like a DS game (possibly just a promotional thing made by Toranoana, not the official packaging), but the “DS” initials in the game title actually mean “Dramatic Story”.
